Call to Duty # 5

It's been a week after the encounter with the Corper and the Balogun and Otun were relaxing under the big kolanut tree in front of Otun's house with a gourd of fresh palm wine and fried bush meat.
"Otun,tomorrow is the D-day?"
"Hmmm?" Otun queried with his mouth half full of wine.
"Ehen,now...the Corper...corper Adisa,have you forgotten?"
"Oh! Yes,that's true, the young man with a very big mouth!" They both laughed sarcastically.
"That boy, does not know anything and I pity him,oh,I pity the woman that bore him,by the time the King is through with him,he would beg the mother earth to swallow him alive!" Balogun commented.
"Well,I don't know because...hmmm...that boyseem so sure himself,he spoke so confidently about his plans for the village" Otun observed.
"Oh,please spare me that! Is he the first to do that, haven't we seen and attended countless number of politicians coming up to give similar speeches in the past, what exactly has that brought us? Nothing! Just a bunch of lies rehearsed for so long that they can say them out and make them look like they are true!" Balogun barked.
"Well,I don't know, but, something tells that this one is different...especially when we consider the fact that the politicians are beyond our reach while the Corper is at our beck and call..."
"That's it! That's a fact the Corper is about to realize in a very bitter way.He might be hoping to fool us with his sugar coated mouth and build a castle in the air and disappear into thin air after the completion of his term as a corper here.He is in for a shocker! I shall see to it that he stayed back to work the magic he promised to work.I'll let him see clearly that he is the fool not us! I will show him pepper!" Balogun declared in anger.
"Calm down,Balogun, calm down.I doubt if he's that stupid. If he is,well,I pity his father along with his mother,in fact,I pity his entire family for the loss incurred in him!" Both men laughed wildly.
"Wo,change the subject please, there are much better things to discuss.Tomorrow,we shall here his plans...ehehn,what of the proposed hotel your friend is intending to build in this town, how far has he gone with it? We have done our part when is he paying our balance as agreed"
"Otuuuun!You like money!"
"You nko,what do you like,poverty?"
"Eh!God forbid!"
"Ehehn, yan me better jare!" Otun inquired
"Well,as promised,he is coming to town next week and..." Balogun began.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jamiu and Akanni were struggling over a bowl of garri and 'Kuli-Kuli' (groundnut cake) when busted into their presence and almost spilled their garri.
"Ah-ah!Ogbeni,se o si,what's wrong with you,you won put shine-shine for our garri ni?!" Jamiu protested.
"I'm sorry,I'm sorry" Komolafe apologized. "Have you heard?"
"Heard what?" Akanni and Jamiu chorused.
"Aro is now a millionaire!"
"Which Aro...eh-eh-eh...that drunkard?!" Jamiu queried
"Yes,yes,he's the one!" Komolafe confirmed it.
"Millionaire,how...how come?!" Akanni asked. Komolafe slammed Jamiu's hand with a flyer.Jamiu quickly looked through the piece of paper with popping eyes.He suddenly hissed and passed the paper to Akanni who was equally eager to know the new magic in town.
"Gambling?" Jamiu asked and hissed again before Komolafe could respond.
"It's not gambling o,they call this one 'Bettings'..."
"It's the same thing, otondo!" Jamiu interrupted
"How much did he win?" Akanni asked
"Who cares if he had won N100 million, the fact remains that he got it from gambling!" Jamiu said before Komolafe could answer.
"And so,what does it matter,is it not better than stealing, armed robbery and the embezzlement of government fund? At least,he didn't have to steal it...he only tried his luck and won!" Komolafe responded in defense. Jamiu started laughing.
"See this one o!I'm sorry, but,I didn't realize that you are this daft!" Jamiu barked.
"Hey,hey, hey!!! No insults, please, no abusive words today. If you have something to say, just say it!There is no need to fight over such a trivial issue as this, please!" Akanni weighed in.
"Thank you jare,Akanni. However,he needs to apologize for hauling insults on me before we can continue" Komolafe protested. Jamiu looked at him and hissed looking away.
"Jamiu,oya now haba!"
"What?!"
"Aplogize now!" Akanni demanded. Jamiu paused for a while looking away
"I'm sorry, but,it's unfortunate that such stupid thing could excite you this much"
"In as much as I agree with you,it's still not enough reason to abuse him"
"I know and I'm sorry. But,come to think of it,how many people with long lasting wealth do you know that made their first million from gambling, what am I even saying, how many existing millionaires do you know made their money from gambling or...betting as you call it,how many hmmm?" Jamiu asked in a friendly manner. His friends were silent.
"None, abi? why then,do you rejoice with someone who made an easy million,do you need to be told that such money don't last long? I give him a year...just a year, that is when he thinks of investing it,come back to see the business or investment a year afterwards and tell me what would be left of it!" Jamiu continued.
"Hmmm...that's true o! That is when you win.We shouldn't forget that countless number of people had to loose for him to win. This is not to forget the gambling house owners themselves, don't they too need money.I don't know about anyone else o,but,as for me,before I can give out a million Naira to anyone,I would have had N100 million paid into my account!" Akanni observed.
"Hm! God bless you for that statement!" Jamiu said in agreement.
"But...but...considering the amount it costs to enter into it,I mean,N100 won't kill you!" Komolafe queried looking worried.
"Yes,you are right. But,in reality, how many people play for the first time and with just one entry and made a million, how many do you know, how many have you heard of?! Ogbeni, reason! The Gambling house owner did not set it up so that you can win,he set it up so that he can win!Like I said earlier, for every million you win and cash out,the game owners would have made hundreds of millions, that's why they keep coming back for you...they making millions to billions from your foolishness!" Akanni explained.
"Wait,Akanni, wait, let me help.Ogbeni, how many senators, governors or their family do you know that  has taken to gambling as profession or past time? None! That's because you can only hope to loose more money than you make from such useless fronts!" Jamiu declared.
"Ehn...okay.What are we going to do,are we not going to collect our own share of the money. Our friend have just made N2.5 million and every Dick and Harry in town have been paying him visits and have been smiling home with thousands. So,far, none have left with anything less than N1000!"
"N1000?!" Akanbi asked
"Yes o!" Komolafe answered.
"Ehn,Jamiu,at this juncture,I think we need to put morality and reality aside and think of our dear poor belly and our integrity and ego that have suffered humiliation several times over in the hands of our wives. I trust Aro,if he see me today,at all,at all e go sama me with at least...hmmm...N3000 and that,my brother is sure ticket to enter Keji tonight!" Akanni said and they all busted into laughter.
"Akanni, kanni! Ha! Keji is in trouble tonight!" Jamiu hailed his friend.
"Yes o,she is and na throughout tonight I go take nak  am....so,I no com shop early tomorrow, na because I won take one leg reach Paradise!" Akanni annpunced. They all laughed again.Jamiu finished off the rest of the garri as they set to follow Komolafe to rejoice with Aro.

Call To Duty #4

"Have you noticed something Rachael?"
"What?"
"Ever since Adisa came back from the Palace,he has not been himself" Kole observed
"What do you expect? The poor guy have just landed himself in a very hot pot of soup!" They both laughed.
"And what is so funny in that?" Shade demanded as she approached them at the centre of the Corpers' lodge compound.
"Eh! Sorry o! Im wife don land o!" Rachael announced
"Why don't you guys, mind your business if you have nothing ggod to offer?"
"No vex abeg! Shade, abeg no let im know abeg,I no want wahala o!" Kole begged
"If e hear nko, shey na we say make im go talk wetin pass im mouth,na we put am for trouble?"
"Trouble,what are you talking about?"
"Oh,you don't know,so you don't know that the King have heard of the mockery your husband made of the him? The King have summoned him to explain himself and from the look of things, your husband would be spending an extra 6 months in this horrible town without pay!" Rachael said and  laughed mockingly. Kole had joined her as Shade watched them laugh as though laughing is strange to her. When they stopped laughing, she clapped her hands in amusement .
"Shoo? Enemy plenty like this?Do you guys realized that what happened to Adisa could happen to anyone, besides, who told you that he's going to serve an extension,na who tell you that, shey na the Z.I. or you just dey ,manufacture am from your industry of lies?"Shade queried. Rachael started laughing again.
"Babe, you too local, you never upgrade, that one no be secret na,in fact,na the talk of the town now.As part of his punishment for insulting the King,he'll have to stay back to serve the town for extra 6 months after which the NYSC year of service is over.Abegi,na who go dey pay am,the King?" Kole started laughing and she quickly joined.Shade walked away.
"Uuuuh! e pain am! Go meet your husband, tell am make e take heart,e go soon dey over" Rachael shouted. Shade shook her head in disappointment. It's not like she didn't know what had transpired between Adisa and the King,in fact she knew that the extra 6 months wasn't a punishment. She knew it was Adisa's idea. This is because she was the only one that approached Adisa to know what transpired between him and the King.
'I only wish Adisa would be my date as they say' She thought to herself as she passed by Adisa's room peeping through the window. Adisa was still planning and scheming, the only thing he's been doing  every evening ever since he came back from the King's Palace.
'This could be my break through in life,Shade. So, be happy for me!' He had confided in her.She smiled as she the scene flashed through her mind. 'I'm happy for you dear,I just hope I'll also be there to enjoy the dividends with you...love!' She smiled again, only this time on the verge of laughing.

Call To Duty #3

"Well..." The King began facing his subjects
"You've heard the young man"
"Kabiyesi..." Iyalode protested
"Please,Iyalode! The boy is right, our people need us to take charge and we have to do exactly that!" turning to the Corper "This is something we ought to have done a long time ago.Thank you,Corper. We shall give you all the support you need but, first things first, I need to see an elaborate blue print of your idea.Go home, think it over and design me a blue print which should be presented to this council within the next fifteen days..."
"Seven days would be okay sir"
"Really?"
"Yes sir!"
"Wow! That's interesting!"
"Yes sir" Adisa responded with a soothing smile.
"Well, see you next week, off you go!" The King said.
"Thank you sir.Bye sir,bye sirs and ma" Corper Adisa said turning to leave.
"Bye bye Corper,we wish you well" Iyalode responded
"Thank you ma" Adisa replied on his way out.As he moved down the street,Adisa felt somewhat elated, very excited. He has always thought of several models of transformation and had being longing for an opportunity to prove to the world that the orthodox ways of doing things are not always right, there are times that the unorthodox solution is in fact the only solution.
'Oh,I feel like flying!' he thought to himself as he jumped up with excitement.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akanni has remained sleepless all night no matter how much he tried. He moved from side to side,he still remained sleepless. He suddenly gave up.The reason he couldn't get to sleep was obvious,it's being a very long while he had sex and he really need to do that as soon as possible, tonight preferrably. But Keji, his wife has been proving very difficult these days.Things has been rough financially which had led to series of quarrels.Even if he begged her, she's most unlikely to bulge because just last night, they had the usual brawl.
Despite all these,he still has to try,'After all, she's my wife!' he thought to himself.
"Baby,baby...baby!" Akanni called quietly as he tapped his wife gently.
"Oooh! What is it now, what's your problem now?" Keji lamented as she turned to go back to sleep.
"But,babe, consider me now...look,it's not fear fa.!" Akanni complained as he holds her back.
"Leave me alone!" Keji shouted"Look Akanni,be careful o...be very careful! Let me sleep now!!"
"But,babe..."
"Oooh shut up! Babe my foot, look,if you keep on tormenting my life,I'll stop sleeping in the room...wait a minute, what am I even saying sef..." She said as she made for the door.
"Kai! Keji...okay,okay,I promise to behave..please come back...please!" Akanni begged. Keji stopped in her steps, looked at him wearing a frown, hissed and went back straight to bed.Akanni sat up held his head in his hands and tried to hold back the tears that have already started running down his cheeks.
"Ehn?! What did you just say,you mean she didn't let you in?!" Jamiu asked his sobbing friend who couldn't answer but shake his head sorrowfully.
"Nawa o! Women sha...just because of the little rough weather that can clear off anytime abi,why are ladies this shallow in thinking?" Jamiu complained.
"I don't blame her!" Komolafe commented
"Money for hand,back for ground!"
"But she's a housewife for God's sake!" Jamiu complained
"So what? Thank God you know she is a wife and not a slave or servant!"
"Haba,Komolafe! Even you,we are in this together, you know?" Jamiu warned
"I know, that's why I keep my distance from Romoke these days.I don't ask for it until she demands for it" Komolafe confessed.
"And what if she didn't ask for it in a month's time?" Jamiu queried
"I'll stay put!"
"Yeh!"
"What is it,are you bitten? The happy thing about it all is that Romoke can't do without it...she has to have it at least once in a week!" Komolafe confirmed.
"Hey! Ejegbetiele!!!" Jamiu exclaimed as he slams Komolafe a hi5.
"I trust you my friend, you no get money but you get better staff...sweet,sweet black candy!"Jamiu commented as both laughed sarcastically.Akanni who also found it funny could not but put up a smile.
"See am,e dey laugh...'omo',cheer up,e dey happen. No worry,na she wey give you quit notice go come back dey beg make you come enter...no worry, cheer up,it's part of life!" Komolafe consoles his friend. Akanni sighed as he nodded in agreement.

Call to Duty #2

"Ok,'Mr look inwards' I think you should get started with the explanation of what you mean by 'looking inwards'" The Balogun bellowed.
Only this time,Adisa had calmed down and too stable to be worried by the threat in Balogun's voice.
"Well, sir, when I said 'looking inwards' I meant that the King must stop looking up to any other person outside himself to do his work for him"
"Shut up!" Balogun roared
"How dare you,Kabiyesi, with your permission,I shall teach this low life a very bitter and unforgettable lesson, just give the order!"
"Balogun, please, calm down. Let us hear the Corper out, please calm down, ehn, calm down." Kabiyesi responded. Turning to the Corper.
"Young man,as you can see,my cabinet members are not really happy with you.You have better come up with a worthwhile explanation."
"Yes,sir.Esteemed members of the royal council,I've not come to ridicule you, neither did I say what brought me to your presence out of mockery.I'm also a Yoruba man who values and cherishes the Yoruba culture and heritage.I dare speak ill of you and your council of chiefs. To be honest,I meant well!" Adisa explained.
"Corper, please save us all that nonsense and go straight to the point. What do you mean by looking inwards?" Iyalode demanded as she is getting rather irritated with the Corper's attitude.
"Yes,ma...sorry ma!"
"Sorry for yourself!"
"Ok sir and ma." Adisa said trying to be careful not to offend anyone any further.
"It is my utmost belief that if you want anything to happen, you should be ready to make it happen yourself.I also strongly believe that whatever it is that I desire,I'm already blessed with all that it takes to get it.In other words,in my opinion, you should give what you have to get what you want." Adisa began.
"If I'm not mistaken, this town has a local government of its own,it is also blessed with very loyal indigenes that would do all in their powers to better the lots of the town and above all, the town has a very, very dedicated King and council of Chiefs" Adisa paused a little bit to look around and observe his audience. To his amusement and pleasure,he has their attention!
"In my opinion, that's all that matters...you see,all those political structures and arrangement does not really matter when it comes to governance until you matter". Corper Adisa asserted. The Chiefs moved and adjusted themselves in their seats. It was obvious that the young man had unsettled them.
"The people would continue to be deprived of the dividends of democracy until they are able to assemble and organize themselves into a formidable force and one people. That can not happen unless you get involved" Adisa continued.
"Democracy is a game of number, unless you get the number, you get nothing.Your situation is much better off considering the fact that you own a local government of your own.It doesn't get any better!" Adisa observes that the chiefs and the King are have fixed their gaze on him as he delivers his speech.
"It all begins with thinking much bigger of yourselves.Go memory lane, ask yourself, how did your forefathers managed the affairs of the land before the emergence of the white people?" Adisa continued.
"Your royal highness, your people need you to go proactive, they need you to take the bull by the horn and lead them to the promised land. It's high time you started thinking of yourself as the Head of State of Ijinle town," Adisa said. The King and his chiefs burst into laughter.
"This Corper go kill person o!" Otun said in the midst of his laughter
"O ga o!" Iyalode commented
"Corper, you are so funny you really think you can just stand up and do whatever you want in this country. You'll get hunted down and killed. What you've said may be possible in the developed world.I'm sorry, but that cannot happen in this jungle called Africa!" The King submitted
"Not when we do it right,sir...not when we do it together!" Adisa insisted. Everyone stopped laughing and gazed at Adisa who had just yelled at them.
"Corper, are you serious?"  The King was surprised.
"Of course,I am,your majesty.I know this sounds awkward, but,it's worth trying...if you can just give me your maximum cooperation for just one year,I promise not only to help you gain the first class status but also help put a lot of infrastructure in place!"
"Corper! Do you know what you are saying?!" The Balogun yelled
"Yes,I do sir!" Adisa yelled back.
"But you have only six months to go..." Iyalode started
"I'm ready to stay another six months, even a year more just to prove my point!" Adisa interrupted and everybody went silent. They noticed the high level of seriousness and conviction with which Adisa is conversing with them.
"Okay, what happens if you fail?" The King broke the silence
"I'm ready to face the consequences sir" Adisa responded confidently.

Call To Duty

"Explain yourself!" yelled the Balogun
"But,sir,it was just a joke..."
"A joke,you call that a joke?!"
"Yes!"
"Calm down Balogun, you are scaring the life out of the poor boy" The King weighed in.He now turned to the young culprit.
"Now,young man,you are a witness to the warm hospitality we accord our guests."
"Yes sir"
"Good, why then, did you decide to make mockery of the very community that have literally been treating you like a king, why have you decided to be an ingrate...what is our crime, hmm?" The King asked in a friendly manner.
"Well, sir,it's not like I meant it the way it turned out to seem like.I was just bearing my mind to my audience the way I see things, that's all sir!" Corper Adisa said in defense.
"Go on" urged the King
"Yes sir,we were just hanging out at the front of Mama Yemi's shop when Basheer broke the news to us"
"What news?" Balogun interrupted
"That the King has once been denied promotion once again"
"And what did you say?" The King asked with a little fire burning in his eyes.Adisa could see the rage gathering in the King. He's now very careful with his choice of words,in fact he wished he could just keep his peace and leave the Palace immediately.
"I...I told him that you are mistaking by wasting your time on them" he responded with close observation of the King who kept quiet for a while, took a long breathe as he retired back on his throne. He suddenly looked at the Corper squinting his eyes.
"So,if I'm mistaking, what, then, what do you suggest is the way forward?" The King inquired. Adisa was relieved. He couldn't hide his feelings as he heaved a very loud sigh of relief. The King and his chiefs gave themselves a glance and laughed hysterically. Adisa laughed too.
"The way forward is in looking inwards" Adisa responded confidently.
"Inwards?" The King asked.
"Yes sir...looking inwards is the way" Adisa confirmed.
...to be continued

Get paid for using facebook

Facebook has several millions of users worldwide most of whom use it majorly for making contacts, making new friends and sharing their pictures, opinions, interests, culture and believes and it's FREE to join.Twitter is another very hot social bookmarking site whose charms has caught the attention of millions of users as well. But, do you know that facebook and twitter has suddenly become money making machines,do you know that ordinary guys like you and I can make thousands on monthly basis from these amazing tools of connectivity?
Big firms like GLO,GTB and Coca-Cola are not on facebook for the fun of it.They are there to connect with more customers and make more money from it,they are on social media to DO BUSINESS.You too can do it.It's not that difficult.
You see, on facebook platform,we all share common interests and ideas freely and as a result, we get to know one another better and improve our lives by helping one another. If you are troubled about something or you share a believe and are eager to find people that share the same interests and believe as you do,you simply make a search on facebook.
Now,your search result shall come in like 3 categories;one would contain individual members, another would contain groups of people while the third is more like organizations that share same interests and views as you do.You may check them out and join those that meet your taste the most. Now, when you join these guys and you start thinking and sharing views and opinions on issues of interest, sometimes you want to give more insights to your views so that your comment or contribution goes lengthy while other times,a few words are just enough. Now if you are passionate about a cause, believe or a news you just heard, you may want to make a well detailed analysis of the issue,as such, you may need to either create a page or get a blog to share your thought.
Having obtained a blog, making lengthy contribution on topics of  interest becomes much easier and updating such a blog would be fun as you are giving updated info on your favorite topic of discussion which you are so excited and happy to share.this is where the money making comes in.
Any facebook user that has a blog on his/her most favorite topic would gladly update it as often as necessary and if the blog is enriched with 'pay per click' ads (PPC ads),he makes money every time someone click on the ads.
Pay Per Click,PPC is an advert program designed and employed by big advert sites online like google, yahoo among other big marketing firms online.Basically, what happens is that website owners and blog owners called 'publishers' register with the marketing sites,e.g. google.com. After registration, they obtain ad codes from google and paste these codes on their sites by which google sends and monitor advertisements made by their customers (google customers).
The only task of the publisher, however is to increase traffic to his/her site ACCORDING to the rules and regulations of the PPC program. As the name implies, google 'pay' 'per' every UNIQUE 'click' made on these ads that they display on the publisher's site.In order to prevent cheating google requires that publishers should NOT advertise with traffic engines like autosurfs and traffic exchange programs and their likes or hire anyone to click on these ads for them.
The opportunity for any passionate facebook user is that facebook, twitter and all other forms of social media provides the kind of traffic PPC companies accepts. They want a situation whereby your website visitors VOLUNTARILY click on these ads without being promised any rewards or incentives of any kind to do so.
So,the bottom line is that while you are passionately sharing your web content with your friends on facebook, followers on twitter and web visitors in general, the PPC ad programs fill your pocket with cash. It's that simple!
That is to say: Facebook account + blog + PPC = CA$$$$H!
So, are you a teacher, student, journalist,Youth Corps member,an expert in any field of life, analyst of any sort or you are just a regular guy who loves gisting? This is an opportunity for you to start off your business FREE OF CHARGE and start making good money from it.There's no limit to how much you can make from this program. With this program, you are just like a radio or T.V. house that make money through commercials they run on their programs.Just like them, the more people that come to your blog, the more voluntary ad click you get and consequently, the more money you make.Simple! This is just the way big Media companies make their money and it's from such revenue they are able to pay their staff.
The other time,I saw a guy's write up on this program where he revealed that he had once made as much as N225 000 from this program!!!
Have you gone to a site on which you saw some adverts...maybe on top or on the side bar and just by the tail end of the adverts you see something like "ads by google'?If you have, then, you just saw a typical example of the PPC ads we are talking about.
There's sooooo much to learn and as a matter of fact, learning in this program is continuous. That is why after set up,I might have to continue to send you updates from time to time as well as e-books at discount prices, some might go FREE!
I must warn, however, that it takes time to make big cash from this program because it takes time to get people to know and visit your site regularly. But,if you already belong to a group or have a fan page with several thousands of friends on facebook, then,to a very high extent you MAY have a jump start to making big cash, you may start making good cash from the program the very month you set it up.This is where I come in.
I can show you how to set it up for a meager fee and you'll do it by yourself, but, if I have to do it for you, you'll pay ...just a little more as set up fee. However my fans of the fan page "I am the boss,MONEY is my slave" on facebook don't have to pay for set up while members of the group "Financial Revolution" (also on facebook) would pay nothing at all.
So,if you are not in a hurry to make the big bucks and are ready to start small and gradually grow your earnings bigger, then, hala me with any question on this offer on:
                                       Phone:07037595859
facebook fan page: "I am the boss,MONEY is my slave"
facebook group: Financial Revolution (paid group;just N1k&N100 monthly)
But if you are satisfied with my explanation on this blog and you really wanna start off immediately, then,go ahead and pay a sum of N1 000 (N1 500 if I'm to set it up for you) to the following banking details and notify via sms on 07037595859.Work commences within 24 hours of confirming your payment.Pay to:
                                       Bank: Skye Bank Nig. Plc.
                                       Account Name:Musa Abdurrahman
                                       Account Number:1018318232
Please Note:Like any other business, you have to take this one too very seriously, let me warn you that updating your blog may require some research works, depending on the niche you may find yourself. You must continue to amuse your visitors well enough to make them back over and over again. It's true you may not spend more than 3 hours daily on it but the bottom line is GET SERIOUS WITH IT!
And PLEASE ensure that this is for you before you indulge in it.
Thanks.

Abdurrahman,
